Design Process

1

Discovery

Defining the “whys”

We meet with you to explore your project. Whether it's partially developed or still a concept, we work with you (and your team) on a design sprint to define features and storyboard use-cases.

On the tail-end of “Discovery" we craft a product identity, vision, and produce early marketing collateral.

2

Early Validation

internal high-fives

In this phase we iteratively explore and evaluate competing user flows through interactive wireframe prototypes. These help to garner a feel for the app in the early going.

The goal of this phase is to internally validate key assumptions and make decisions around trade-offs.

3

Prototype & Final UI

testing in the wild

Here we create high fidelity prototypes and comb through the user experience unearthed in controlled usability testing (with end-users).

To conclude we start building the product with your engineers or with one of our development partners.

ColorTheory UI/UX

Is a product design shop led by Taylor Poe. He enjoys working with teams to craft concepts into beautiful, tested solutions.

As a shop ColorTheory strives to create user experiences that are both thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable.

Our process is fast-paced and focuses on getting interactive prototypes into your hands as early as possible — whether it be lo-fi, hi-fi; desktop or mobile. We believe there’s no substitute for validating user flows and product-feel then actual, hands-on usage.

“A prototype is worth a thousand meetings.”
— Mike Davidson, VP of Design, Twitter

Most of all, ColorTheory values helping you make remarkable products. If that means bringing in one of our engineering partners or a particular illustrator/designer, we’ll make those recommendations as early as they become evident.
